Mary and the Witch's Flower (Japanese: メアリと魔女の花, Hepburn: Meari to Majo no Hana) is a 2017 Japanese animated fantasy film co-written and directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, produced by Studio Ponoc, and distributed by Toho. It is based on the 1971 book The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart. The story follows a young girl named Mary Smith who discovers a mysterious flower called "fly-by-night," which grants her magical powers for a limited time. She is then taken to a magic school, where she uncovers a perilous truth. The film received generally positive reviews for its animation and visuals. It was released in Japan on July 8, 2017, and in the United States on January 19, 2018, with both English dubbed and subtitled versions. The voice cast includes Hana Sugisaki, Yūki Amami, and Ryunosuke Kamiki.
