Aguu: Genius Dolls is a manga series created by Chinese mangaka Yichun Jun, originally serialized on Tencent Comics, and later adapted into a TV anime. The anime, produced by Studio DEEN, premiered in 2018, initially titled "Aguu: Tensai Ningyou" (Evil Doll: Genius Doll), and was renamed "Genius Dolls" for its broadcast in China. The series blends horror and fantasy elements, telling the story centered around mysterious dolls called "Aguu". These Aguu possess the power to grant genius-level talents to their holders, but also carry unpredictable dangers. The story revolves around Ai, an ordinary dancer, and Machi, a genius dancer. After discovering Machi’s secret, Ai becomes a "Savior," fighting against the "Seamstresses" who create the Aguu, in order to save Machi. The anime consists of 12 episodes, referred to as "tracks", exploring the price of genius and the intertwining of fate.
