Her Blue Sky

"Her Blue Sky" (Japanese: 空の青さを知る人よ, Sora no Aosa o Shiru Hito yo) is a 2019 Japanese animated film produced by CloverWorks. Directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada, with character designs by Masayoshi Tanaka, the film tells the story of the Aioi sisters, Akane and Aoi, and their connection to Shinnosuke, Akane's former boyfriend. After the sisters' parents die, Akane sacrifices her dream to move to Tokyo and raise Aoi. Years later, Shinnosuke returns to their town as a professional musician, and at the same time, a younger version of Shinnosuke from 13 years ago appears. The film explores themes of love, regret, and pursuing dreams amidst the backdrop of a quaint town. Known for its emotional depth and stunning visuals, "Her Blue Sky" is the third work from the Super Peace Busters creative team following "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" and "The Anthem of the Heart."
