Ne Zha

Ne Zha is a 2019 Chinese 3D computer-animated fantasy adventure film directed and written by Yu Yang, also known as Jiaozi. The animation production was done by the director's own Chengdu Coco Cartoon. Featuring the popular Chinese mythological character Nezha, the plot is loosely based on the classic 16th-century novel Investiture of the Gods. The film tells the story of Nezha, who was born as a demon orb but refuses to be bound by fate, and eventually fights against it. Released in China on July 26, 2019, it became one of the highest-grossing animated films in Chinese film history and the highest-grossing non-US animated film worldwide. The film has been highly praised for its exquisite production, profound themes, and innovative adaptation of traditional mythology. It has not only achieved great success in China but also gained recognition from international audiences. The friendship between Ne Zha and Ao Bing is also a notable aspect of the film, adding depth to the complex relationship between the two characters.
