The Musée de l'Homme was founded by anthropologist Paul Rivet in 1937 and is affiliated with the French National Museum of Natural History, aiming to explore human origins, evolution, and cultural diversity. The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia, established in 1947, primarily houses First Nations artifacts and undertakes teaching and academic research. Additionally, Xiamen University also has a museum of Chinese anthropology, archaeology, and ethnology, which opened in 1953.
