"The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" (Japanese: お隣の天使様にいつの間にか駄目人間にされていた件) is a Japanese light novel series written by Saekisan. The story revolves around the sweet romance between high school student Amane Fujimiya and his neighbor, Mahiru Shiina, the school's most beautiful girl. Their paths initially cross when Amane lends Mahiru his umbrella on a rainy day. To repay the favor, Mahiru begins to care for the slovenly Amane, gradually bringing them closer and developing their relationship. The series was originally serialized on the website "Shōsetsuka ni Narō," and later published by SB Creative under their GA Bunko label, with illustrations by Hanekoto. It has also been adapted into manga and anime. The manga, with art by Wan Shibata and composition by Suzu Yūki, is serialized in Square Enix's online manga magazine "Manga Up!". The anime, produced by Project No.9, aired from January to March 2023, and a second season has been announced. The light novel has consistently ranked in the top ten of Takarajimasha's "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" and, in 2024, it achieved the top spot in the bunkobon category, as well as winning other categories, becoming the first work to achieve a five-crown victory.
