"Play It Cool, Guys" (クールドジ男子, Kūru Doji Danshi), also known as "Cool Clumsy Guys," is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kokone Nata. It originated as a series of illustrations posted on the author's Twitter, depicting the everyday mishaps of seemingly cool but clumsy young men. Due to its popularity on social media, the series began serialization on Pixiv in February 2019 and was later officially serialized as a manga on Gangan Pixiv in June of the same year. The manga is presented in full color and has been collected into multiple tankōbon volumes. The story revolves around four college students with distinct personalities: Souma Shiki, Hayate Ichikura, Shun Futami, and Takayuki Mima. They often find themselves in humorous situations due to their clumsiness, but they always try to maintain a composed and cool demeanor. Despite their airheadedness, their 'gap moe' charm often captivates those around them. The series portrays their daily lives in a lighthearted and comedic manner, highlighting their friendships and personal growth. In addition to the manga, "Play It Cool, Guys" has also been adapted into an anime and a live-action drama series. The anime adaptation, produced by Pierrot, aired from October 2022 to March 2023, with 24 episodes. The drama adaptation aired on TV Tokyo from April to July 2023. These adaptations have introduced the series to a wider audience and further solidified its popularity.
