His exceptional understanding of machinery led him to become the youngest apprentice to receive patronage from Clan Giopara. Initially, Jayce dedicated himself to designing versatile multi-tools for Piltover's working class, such as a wrench that transforms into a prybar and a pickaxe that morphs into a shovel. His partnership with Viktor eventually fractured due to ethical concerns regarding some of Viktor's technology. Later, he discovered a mysterious crystal from the Shuriman desert and harnessed it to create his signature weapon, the Mercury Hammer. Ultimately, Jayce became a hero of Piltover, devoted to defending his people against all threats.
