David Mason

David Mason, codenamed "Section," is the main playable character and protagonist in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He is the son of CIA Agent and USMC Captain Alex Mason, a member of SEAL Team Six, and the Commander of all JSOC Strike Force missions. David was born in 1979 and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. His childhood was difficult, marked by the early death of his mother and a strained relationship with his father. As an adult, David joined the U.S. Navy and eventually rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In Black Ops II, he confronts the terrorist Raul Menendez while uncovering secrets about his father's past. David's fate depends on the player's choices in the game; he may sacrifice himself in battle, or he may live a peaceful life after completing his mission. In addition to Black Ops II, David Mason has also appeared as a playable character in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode and in Call of Duty: Mobile. He is proficient in various weapons and tactics, an experienced commander and fighter.
