A Block of Quartz is a mineral block used for decoration in Minecraft. It can be crafted using 4 Nether Quartz in a crafting table. Quartz blocks can be further crafted into Chiseled Quartz Blocks, Quartz Pillars, or Quartz Bricks. These blocks require a pickaxe to mine; otherwise, they will not drop anything. Four quartz blocks naturally generate in each bridge bastion remnant. They can be used as building materials because they do not burn, serving as a white substitute for wool. They can also be placed under note blocks to produce a bass drum sound. Unlike other ore blocks, quartz blocks cannot be converted back into Nether Quartz. The Block of Quartz was added in Java Edition 1.5 and Pocket Edition 0.6.0. Quartz blocks and their variants can be obtained through crafting in survival mode, or found in the creative inventory. In the game, they are mainly used for decoration and construction, and can create an effect similar to marble or limestone.
