Demon Lord 2099

"Demon Lord 2099" is a Japanese light novel series written by Daigo Murasaki and illustrated by Kureta, which began publication under Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in January 2021. The story follows Demon Lord Veltol Velvet Velsvalt, who awakens in the cyberpunk city of Shinjuku in 2099, 500 years after being defeated by a hero. Finding his magical power weakened due to lack of faith, he begins live-streaming to regain strength. The series blends fantasy and science fiction, depicting the demon lord's survival and quest for revenge in a technologically advanced world. It has been adapted into a 12-episode anime series by J.C.STAFF, which aired from October to December 2024. In addition to the light novels and anime, there are two manga adaptations. The work won the Grand Prize at the 33rd Fantasia Awards. The English license for this work is held by Yen Press.
