Ariake

Ariake is a destroyer kanmusu from the game "Kantai Collection" (KanColle). She is the fifth ship of the Hatsuharu-class destroyers. Her name means "Daybreak," symbolizing the dawning of a new day. In the game, Ariake is portrayed as lively and tomboyish, but she also has a delicate side. She refers to herself as "I" and is casual in her manner of addressing the admiral and other kanmusu. Although she identifies as a Hatsuharu-class, her design is actually influenced by both the Hatsuharu and Shiratsuyu classes, due to her historical development, where she was initially designed as an "Ariake-class" before being reclassified to the Hatsuharu-class. Ariake has balanced stats and, after remodeling, can equip Daihatsu Landing Craft, making her useful for expeditions and transport missions. She is voiced by Yumi Tanibe, and her character design is by Ichiso Kujou. Unlike other Hatsuharu destroyers, she is closer to Shiratsuyu-class kanmusu like Shiratsuyu and Shigure (whom she calls "Tsuyu" and "Shigure" respectively) and often works alongside them. She also has a younger sister named Yuugure, both being members of the 27th Destroyer Division. In the story, she is heavily reliant on Yuugure and feels lonely when her sister is not around.
