Fastitocalon Fin

Fastitocalon-F, also known as "フォカロル", is an enemy that appears in Final Fantasy VIII, often found in groups of three. It is the "fake" counterpart to the larger Fastitocalon, with the "F" in its name signifying "fake." In battle, it is usually referred to simply as Fastitocalon. A distinctive feature of Fastitocalon-F is that it hides in the sand at the start of a battle, with only its fin visible. Upon being attacked, it may jump out of the sand. Fastitocalon-F is a significant source of AP early in the game. Furthermore, in the Triple Triad card game, it is used as a card to distinguish it from the regular Fastitocalon card. The Fastitocalon-F card is a basic Level 1 Monster Card, which can be transformed into Water Crystals via Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. Water Crystals can be used to teach Quistis a Blue Magic spell and refine into Water spells. The name Fastitocalon is derived from the legendary sea monster Aspidochelone, while Focalor is one of the 72 demons sealed by Solomon, with power over wind and sea. Fastitocalon-F also drops Fish Fins, which can be refined into Water magic and are widely used in speedruns.
