Konngara

Konngara (こんがら/コンガラ), also known as 'Astral Knight', is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing as the final boss of the Hell route in the PC-98 game, Highly Responsive to Prayers. Konngara has no dialogue in the game, resulting in little information about their background and personality. Their distinguishing features include red eyes, black hair, a horn-like protrusion on their forehead, red robes, and the wielding of a sword and a cup-like object. Behind them appear flames and Sanskrit script. Their theme is 'Starry Swordswoman', later remixed as 'Starry Angel' in Mystic Square. In fan works, they are often depicted with other bosses from Highly Responsive to Prayers or as an oni. Their name possibly derives from Kiṃkara, an attendant of the Buddhist deity Acala. Due to the obscurity of Highly Responsive to Prayers, Konngara's popularity is relatively low. Among fans, July 28th is celebrated as 'Konngara Day', stemming from the fact that Kiṃkara is the seventh of the Eight Great Youths of Acala, and the 28th is a day of Acala.
