Yumemi Okazaki

Yumemi Okazaki (岡崎 夢美, Okazaki Yumemi) is a character from the Touhou Project series, debuting as the final boss in Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream. She is a university professor from the Outside World specializing in comparative physics. Yumemi believes in the existence of 'magic,' a force that does not fit into the unified theory of physics in her world, and travels to Gensokyo to study it. Her ship, the Probability Space Hypervessel, is mistaken for ruins, triggering the events of Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream. Yumemi is somewhat naive and stubborn, referring to Reimu Hakurei's powers as 'magic' despite Reimu's insistence that it is 'divine power.' She attempts to take Gensokyo residents back to her world for research and once threatened to use a four-dimensional positron bomb, but is stopped by her assistant, Chiyuri Kitashirakawa. Yumemi was ridiculed in academia for her 'Non-Unified Magical World Theory' and seeks revenge on the academic world. She is characterized by her red hair and outfit, as well as her distinctive cross-shaped bullets. Yumemi is popular among fans and is often referred to as 'Professor.' Her given name, 'Yumemi,' means 'beautiful dream,' while her surname, 'Okazaki,' is a common Japanese surname meaning 'mountain.'
