Gengetsu

Gengetsu (幻月, Gengetsu) is a character from the Touhou Project series, debuting as the second Extra Stage boss in Touhou Gensoukyou ~ Lotus Land Story. She is the older sister of Mugetsu, and both are demons. Gengetsu resides in the mysterious dream world created by Mugetsu. She is characterized by her golden hair and eyes, a red headband, a pink top with red ribbons, a white skirt, and white wings, making her look like an angel, although she is a demon. Gengetsu's name, meaning 'illusory moon,' also refers to a type of optical illusion, the paraselene or moondog. In the story, the protagonist encounters Gengetsu after defeating Mugetsu. Gengetsu herself is unaware of the reason for the fight, simply acting on her younger sister's orders. She is known for her challenging danmaku patterns, with her final 'berserk' form featuring all-directional, high-speed, and high-density bullets, earning her the reputation of being one of the most formidable bosses in the Touhou series. In fan works, Gengetsu is often depicted as a powerful and aggressive character.
