Rumia

Rumia (ルーミア) is a character in the Touhou Project series, first appearing as the Stage 1 boss in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. She is a youkai with the ability to manipulate darkness, capable of shrouding her surroundings in impenetrable darkness, rendering even torches ineffective. However, she herself cannot see in this darkness, often bumping into trees. Rumia has a simple personality, dislikes sunlight, and believes that a youkai's job is to hunt humans. Despite her innocent appearance, she is a man-eating youkai. She wears a red ribbon on her head, which is actually a charm that she cannot touch or remove herself. In the game, Rumia appears to possess powerful darkness manipulation abilities, but she's relatively weak, often serving as a tutorial boss. She's usually depicted with her arms outstretched horizontally, evoking an image of a saint on a cross. Her ability, while seemingly powerful, is limited to creating darkness and is used more often to avoid sunlight.
