Remilia Scarlet (レミリア・スカーレット) is a prominent character in the Touhou Project series. She is a powerful vampire and the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Despite her youthful appearance, she is over 500 years old. Remilia is known for her immense power and the ability to manipulate fate, making her a dangerous figure in Gensokyo, often referred to as the "Scarlet Devil." She first appears as the final boss in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, where she orchestrated the incident of covering Gensokyo with a scarlet mist to block out the sun. Despite her power, Remilia has a childish personality and often acts capriciously. She has a fondness for novelties and is particularly curious about the moon. She has complex relationships with the residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, including her younger sister Flandre Scarlet, her maid Sakuya Izayoi, and her friend Patchouli Knowledge. Remilia's character combines Western vampire tropes with Eastern fantasy elements, making her one of the most beloved characters in Touhou Project.
