Chen

Chen (チェン), also known as 橙, is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing in Touhou Youyoumu (Perfect Cherry Blossom) as the stage 2 boss and extra stage mid-boss. She is Ran Yakumo's shikigami and a bakeneko youkai. A unique aspect of Chen is that she is a "shikigami of a shikigami," meaning she is a shikigami controlled by Ran, who is also a shikigami herself. When possessed as a shikigami, she gains more powerful youkai abilities, but her power is somewhat limited due to her master being a shikigami. Her primary ability is sorcery, and she can use swift and deceptive movements to confuse opponents. Chen resides on Youkai Mountain and possesses the intellect of a human child, but still retains cat-like traits, such as hating water. She also tried to become a leader in a village of cats, but was unsuccessful. Her name originates from the Japanese word for 'orange,' and she is characterized by her brown hair, cat ears, two tails, and usually wears red and pink clothes.
