Mizuhashi Parsee

Parsee Mizuhashi (水橋 パルスィ, Mizuhashi Parusi) is a character in the Touhou Project, a hashihime or bridge princess who guards the "bridge" between the surface world and the Underworld. She possesses the ability to manipulate the jealousy of others. Parsee first appeared as the Stage 2 boss in *Subterranean Animism*. She is characterized by her intense jealousy, even envying those who are less fortunate simply for not experiencing jealousy themselves. Though she may appear normal or even cheerful on the surface, she harbors deep jealousy and will often speak ill of others behind their backs. As a bridge princess, she was originally responsible for guarding the bridge, ensuring safe passage between the surface and the underworld, but her jealousy towards travelers led to her acquiring the ability to control jealousy. Her name, "Mizuhashi," means "water bridge," while "Parsee" is possibly related to the Persians, as "hashi" was an old Japanese word for Persia, homophonous with "bridge," influencing her clothing design. Parsee is depicted with wavy blonde hair, green eyes, and wears clothing featuring cross-stitch patterns with a Persian-inspired style.
