Komeiji Koishi

Koishi Komeiji (古明地 こいし, Komeiji Koishi) is a character in the Touhou Project series, first appearing in Subterranean Animism. She is the younger sister of Satori Komeiji, and belongs to the Satori youkai race. Initially, Koishi possessed the ability to read minds, but due to the negative emotions associated with it, she chose to close her third eye, losing her mind-reading ability. Instead, she gained the ability to manipulate the unconscious. This allows her to act unconsciously and go unnoticed by others unless she allows it. Koishi's actions are not controlled by her conscious mind, leading her to wander aimlessly, though she doesn't seem bothered by it. Others perceive her as having lost her purpose and emotions. Despite this, she sometimes displays a childlike and playful side, along with curiosity about the unknown. She has also caused minor incidents due to her unconscious actions, such as stealing Hata no Kokoro's mask in Hopeless Masquerade and Sumireko Usami's smartphone in Urban Legend in Limbo. Koishi resides in the Palace of the Earth Spirits and is also a laywoman at the Myouren Temple. She is a popular character due to her unique personality and abilities, as well as her active role in the story.
