Tatara Kogasa

Kogasa Tatara, also known as Tatara Kogasa (多々良 小傘), is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing in Undefined Fantastic Object as the Stage 2 boss and mid-boss. She is a karakasa obake whose primary purpose is to surprise people, though she is often unsuccessful. Originally a discarded umbrella deemed unpopular due to its color, she was swept away to Gensokyo by the wind and became a youkai. According to her profile in Undefined Fantastic Object, she is currently studying classic ghost stories to improve her scaring techniques. Kogasa is a cheerful youkai, but easily gets depressed when her attempts to surprise others fail. Although she claims to seek revenge on humans, she's actually quite friendly, and her 'revenge' is limited to surprising and spooking them. Kogasa has the appearance of a karakasa umbrella and frequently uses it as a projectile weapon, she also possesses a seemingly out of place skill in blacksmithing, claiming her skills are superior to humans. She is also known for various unexpected fourth-wall interactions, seemingly unconnected to the main story but frequently appearing in various places. She craves to be wanted and is on a quest to find her purpose as a youkai.
