Ichirin Kumoi (雲居 一輪, Kumoi Ichirin) is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing in Undefined Fantastic Object. She is a former human turned youkai who manipulates a nyuudou (a type of yokai). She is frequently seen with Unzan, a nyuudou made of clouds, who she controls in battle. Ichirin is known for her serious and quick-witted personality, contrasting with the stubborn Unzan. She independently guards the Palanquin Ship to assist in the revival of Byakuren Hijiri. Ichirin is a monk at the Myouren Temple, tasked with chores and training. She is deeply loyal to Byakuren and values her partner Unzan. Ichirin manipulates Unzan to attack, and she also has a unique attack style herself, using lasers and long-shaped danmaku rather than bullet-shaped ones. In her backstory, Ichirin was a brave girl who, through her wisdom and courage, turned Unzan from a would-be attacker into her protector, ultimately joining Byakuren's cause with him.
