Shou Toramaru is a character from the Touhou Project series. She is a tiger youkai and a disciple of the Buddhist god Bishamonten. She serves as a high-ranking priest at the Myouren Temple, and is revered for her ability to attract wealth. Although she is a disciple of Byakuren Hijiri, she is also worshiped by Byakuren as the avatar of Bishamonten. Shou has a gentle and dignified demeanor in public, but she is also known to show more emotion, and sometimes even rage, around her close friends. She wields a magical item called Bishamonten's Pagoda, which can gather wealth and fire lasers that can incinerate anything. In the Touhou Project story, she works to revive the sealed Byakuren Hijiri, and adventures in Gensokyo with her comrades. Her character design combines tiger elements and Buddhist symbolism, reflecting the unique cultural fusion in the Touhou Project.
