Houjuu Nue

Nue Houjuu is a mysterious and powerful youkai from the Touhou Project series. She first appeared in *Undefined Fantastic Object* as the Extra stage boss. Nue's species is also "Nue," and her ability is to "make objects unidentifiable," causing her appearance to change based on the observer's perception, sometimes even taking on the form of different mythical creatures. She enjoys playing pranks on humans and finds amusement in their fear. She was once sealed underground but returned to the surface during a disturbance, leading to encounters with the protagonists. Nue eventually joined the Myouren Temple, though she remains somewhat aloof from other youkai. Despite her eccentric nature, she possesses a kind side and has been known to assist the protagonists in certain situations. Her typical appearance includes short black hair, dark red eyes, three red metallic wings on her right side, and three blue arrow-shaped tails on her left, and she wields a trident. Nue is quite popular within the Touhou fanbase due to her unique abilities and design.
