Himekaidou Hatate

Hatate Himekaidou (姫海棠 はたて) is a character from the Touhou Project series, debuting as one of the protagonists in Double Spoiler. She is a crow tengu reporter who runs the newspaper called 'Kakashi Spirit News'. Unlike her colleague Aya Shameimaru, Hatate never goes out for news interviews, instead using her ability of 'thoughtography' to gather information. Her thoughtography allows her to find related photos in her camera by entering keywords, allowing her to obtain information and images without leaving her room. Although her articles are informative and insightful, they lack speed and freshness due to her reliance on 'thoughtography' of past events. Hatate is discontented with the traditional hierarchy and dislikes working. In terms of personality, she is lively, cheerful, and enjoys joking around. Her appearance features brown eyes, purple-ribboned pigtails, a pink shirt with purple trim, a black tie, a purple tokin, a black and purple checkered skirt, and purple geta sandals. She uses an old-fashioned flip phone as a camera. In the game, Hatate is the second playable character after Aya in Double Spoiler, where she needs to revisit various characters to photograph spell cards that Aya has already captured. She has also appeared as a background character in other spin-off games.
