She is a poverty god who, along with her younger sister Joon, causes misfortune and steals wealth from the residents of Gensokyo through the 'Perfect Possession' phenomenon. Shion herself is also cursed with misfortune due to her powers, making her apathetic and submissive. However, she later becomes independent and befriends Tenshi Hinanawi. Shion's ability is to bring misfortune to those around her, even to herself. She is characterized by her long dark-blue hair, clothes decorated with debt and eviction notices, a broken beggar's cup, and a small cat doll.
