Eika Ebisu (戎 瓔花, Ebisu Eika / Ebisu Youka), also known as Ebisu Eika/Ebisu Youka, is a character in the Touhou Project series. She is a god of fortune and the soul of a stillborn child who resides at the riverbank of Sai no Kawara. She first appears as the Stage 1 midboss and boss in Touhou Project's 17th game, Wily Beast and Weakest Creature. Eika is renowned for her skill in stacking stones, transforming this seemingly pointless task into an engaging and worthwhile activity. She frequently organizes stone-stacking contests for other mizuko souls, earning her the title of Sai no Kawara's idol. While cheerful and intelligent, she also displays fierce bursts of emotion like a child. She becomes enraged and attacks the game's protagonists when they destroy the stone towers she and the mizuko have built, but is quick to accept the situation and organize new games. Her ability is based on the Sai no Kawara legend, where mizuko build stone towers to try to reach paradise. Eika's distinctive design includes fluffy, light yellow hair, red eyes, and a noticeably darker complexion compared to most characters. Her outfit and hairstyle resemble a jellyfish, while the red tassels resemble both jellyfish tentacles and umbilical cords. Her name "Ebisu" is associated with one of the Seven Lucky Gods, while "Eika" means jeweled necklace and flower, also hinting at her status as a "ruler" of infant ghosts.
