Nippaku Zanmu, also known as 日白 残無(にっぱく ざんむ), is the main antagonist of the game *Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost* in the *Touhou Project* series. She was once a human monk during the Sengoku Jidai period who discarded her humanity by absorbing beast-youkai spirits. Sensing her imminent fall to Hell, she ventured there prematurely and transformed into an oni. Using her intelligence and charisma, she ruled Hell and proposed the relocation of Hell from Former Hell, causing resentment among those who remained. In the game, she manipulates other protagonists using her abilities and influence to achieve her ultimate goal. Zanmu is described as the perfect oni, possessing both strength and intelligence. She has the ability to manipulate nothingness, causing victims to lose their desires and motivations, effectively disrupting or controlling them. Although driven by self-serving motives, she also demonstrates a sense of grace, seeking a peaceful resolution to the beast wars and protecting Gensokyo from destruction. She is inspired by the Sengoku period monk Zanmu Nichihaku. Her given name's characters, 'Zan' meaning 'remainings' and 'Mu' meaning 'nothing', differ from the 'Mu' that means 'dream'.
