Iwakasa

Iwakasa (岩笠, いわかさ) is a character from the Touhou Project, who has only appeared in Chapter 4 of *Cage in Lunatic Runagate* as a memory of Fujiwara no Mokou. He is a human, formerly a subordinate of the Emperor, tasked with disposing of the Hourai Elixir. He encounters Mokou on the way to the summit of Mount Fuji, where they meet Konohana-Sakuyahime. She warns them against throwing the elixir into the volcano, advising they dispose of it on another mountain. On their way down, Mokou, driven by her desire for immortality, kicks Iwakasa down a steep slope, killing him and stealing the elixir. Iwakasa's appearance is vague, depicted only from behind with shadows obscuring his form, wearing robes and a martial ponytail. He is considered based on Tsuki no Iwakasa from *The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter*. Mokou feels guilt for killing Iwakasa, and two of her spell cards ("Prescribed 'Curse of Tsuki-no-Iwakasa'" and "Forgiveness 'Honest Man's Death'") are named after him.
