Usami Renko

Renko Usami (宇佐見 蓮子, Usami Renko) is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing in 'Ghostly Field Club'. She is a university student in the Outside World (Japan), majoring in super unified physics. Renko co-founded the 'Hifuu Club' with her close friend Maribel Hearn, a club primarily dedicated to researching paranormal phenomena and other worlds. Renko is known for her calm, objective, and logical perspective, which aligns with her background as a physics major. She has the ability to tell time by looking at the stars and determine location by looking at the Moon, even in photographs. Renko is usually depicted wearing a black hat, white blouse, brown dress, and a black shawl. Although she has no direct connection to Gensokyo, she is aware of its existence through Maribel's dreams and supports her friend's exploration of the paranormal. Renko serves as a supporting character for Maribel in the stories, helping her differentiate between reality and fantasy, and analyzing their discoveries from a scientific standpoint.
