Pidgeotto

Pidgeotto (Japanese: ピジョン Pigeon) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Pidgey starting at level 18 and evolves into Pidgeot starting at level 36. Pidgeotto is a raptor-like avian Pokémon covered in brown feathers, with a cream-colored face, underside, and flight feathers. It has a crest of pinkish-red feathers on its head and black, angular markings behind its eyes. Its tail feathers alternate between red and yellow with ragged tips. Pidgeotto has pink beak and legs with two toes pointing forward and one pointing backward. It is a powerful flier capable of carrying prey for several miles to its nest. Pidgeotto has amazing vision, enabling it to locate prey like Exeggcute and Magikarp. It claims a territory of more than 60 miles, which it fiercely defends, and nests are usually in the center. It is commonly found in temperate forests. In the anime, Ash's Pidgey evolved into a Pidgeotto and was later released to protect wild Pidgey and Pidgeotto.
