Raichu (ライチュウ) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Pikachu and is the final evolved form of Pichu. Raichu is a large, orange rodent-like Pokémon with long ears, a lightning bolt-shaped tail, and yellow cheek pouches for storing electricity. It is known for its powerful electric attacks, capable of unleashing 100,000 volts. In the Alola region, there is a regional variant known as Alolan Raichu, which is a dual Electric/Psychic-type, possessing psychic abilities that allow it to ride its tail like a surfboard. Raichu can be found in various environments, including forests and areas with electrical sources. While often portrayed as Pikachu's rival in various media, Raichu is a powerful Pokémon that must discharge excess electricity through its tail into the ground. It is a recurring character in the Pokémon anime and games.
