Nidoqueen (Japanese: ニドクイン Nidoqueen) is a dual-type Poison/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of Nidoran♀, evolving from Nidorina when exposed to a Moon Stone. Nidoqueen is a large, bipedal Pokémon with a mammalian appearance and distinct reptilian features. Its body is covered in hard scales that provide excellent defense, and these scales stand up when Nidoqueen is excited or provoked. It has a blunt snout, brown eyes, large, rounded ears, a small horn on its forehead, and a line of toxic spikes down its back. Nidoqueen is a female-only species, the counterpart to the male Nidoking. It is known for its strength and protective nature towards its young, often using its body to block the entrances of its burrows. In battle, it uses powerful tackles to throw opponents and can also use poison and ground-type attacks. Nidoqueen is a rare wild Pokémon, typically found in savannas and open plains.
