Vulpix, known as Rokon in Japanese, is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It resembles a fox with reddish-brown fur and six orange tails with curled tips. It has three tufts of fur on its head that are similar to its tails. Vulpix is said to be born with a single white tail that splits into six as it matures, changing to an orange hue. It has an internal flame that never goes out and releases flames from its mouth to regulate its body temperature. It can also manipulate fire to create floating orbs, sometimes mistaken for will-o'-the-wisps. Vulpix also has a regional Ice-type form in Alola, known as Alolan Vulpix. Alolan Vulpix is entirely white with blue eyes and fluffy white tails and head fur that resemble snow. It can protect itself by expelling air at -50°C. Vulpix evolves into Ninetales with a Fire Stone, while Alolan Vulpix evolves into Alolan Ninetales with an Ice Stone.
