Dugtrio (Japanese: ダグトリオ), the evolved form of Diglett, is a Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It consists of three Diglett triplets that share a single body. Although they appear as separate individuals, they think the same thoughts and work cooperatively, digging tunnels underground. Dugtrio can burrow at speeds of 60 mph (100 km/h), sometimes causing tremors and earthquakes. Each head is smooth and tough, with a large pink nose. In the Alola region, a regional variant, Alolan Dugtrio, exists with a dual Ground/Steel type and golden hair-like whiskers. These whiskers serve as sensors for detecting underground movements and are considered sacred by Alolans. Dugtrio are known to live underground in caves, and sometimes in hollow trees in forests. They play a vital role in agriculture by aerating the soil. They are featured in various Pokémon media.
