Golem, known in Japanese as ゴローニャ (Gorōnya), is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of Geodude, evolving from Graveler when traded or when exposed to a Linking Cord. In the Alola region, Golem has a regional Rock/Electric form, which evolves from Alolan Graveler through trade. Golem resembles a large, spherical boulder with a hard, plated shell, so durable that dynamite cannot harm it. It can withdraw its head and limbs into its shell and roll at high speeds, but this impairs its vision. Golem sheds its skin annually, which then hardens and becomes soil. It can also detonate its own body to propel itself. The Alolan Golem has a different appearance with iron sand forming a beard and eyebrows, and cannons on its back that fire electrically charged rocks or even Geodude. This variant is known for its grumpy and stubborn nature, emitting electrical discharges when upset. Golem appears in both the Pokémon anime and video games, and is a well-recognized character in the Pokémon universe.
