Drowzee (Japanese: スリープ Sleepe) is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It resembles a tapir, with a yellow upper body and a brown lower body separated by a wavy line. Drowzee has the ability to hypnotize others and sense their dreams, allowing it to choose which dreams to consume. It has a particular preference for the dreams of children and Pokémon, which are said to be tastier, and dislikes nightmares. Drowzee's nose is sensitive, enabling it to identify the nature of dreams by smell. It remembers every dream it has eaten. An itchy nose while sleeping is said to indicate a Drowzee is nearby, consuming your dream through your nostrils. Drowzee is based on the Japanese mythical Baku, a creature that consumes nightmares. In the games, Drowzee evolves into Hypno. Drowzee can have the abilities Forewarn or Insomnia. Forewarn allows Drowzee to identify the opponent's strongest move and Insomnia gives Drowzee immunity to sleeping.
