Krabby, known as クラブ (Kurabu) in Japanese, is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon series. It resembles a small, red crab with a shell and two antennae on its back, along with its signature large pincers. Krabby inhabits coastal areas, particularly beaches, where it burrows in the sand. It is an omnivorous Pokémon that occasionally filter-feeds on sand for nutrients. Krabby is highly territorial, and will often fight with others of its kind for territory, especially on beaches with limited food resources. Its pincers are used as both weapons and balancing tools, and they can regenerate if lost. Krabby evolves into Kingler. In the anime, Ash owned a Krabby that eventually evolved into Kingler. Krabby has appeared in the Pokémon Trading Card Game as a Water-type card, usually with a weakness to Electric or Grass-types.
