Staryu

Staryu (Japanese: ヒトデマン Hitodeman) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves into Starmie when exposed to a Water Stone. Staryu resembles a golden-brown starfish with a red gem-like core at its center, held in place by a golden ring. This core is vital to Staryu’s survival, allowing it to regenerate lost limbs as long as the core remains intact. Staryu typically resides on the seafloor but rises to the surface at night, where its core glows and aligns with the stars, suggesting a connection with celestial bodies. The core’s pulsating rhythm even matches that of a human heartbeat. Staryu has made numerous appearances in the Pokémon anime, manga, and games, notably as one of Misty's Pokémon. In Pokémon GO, Staryu evolves into Starmie with 50 candies and is featured more frequently during various events. Staryu has the unique abilities to regenerate body parts, use water-based attacks, and reflect light and energy with its core.
