Starmie

Starmie is a dual-type Water/Psychic Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Staryu when exposed to a Water Stone. Starmie resembles a purple starfish with a red jewel core surrounded by a golden structure at its center. It has a second, semi-attached starfish on its back, giving it a ten-pointed appearance. This back starfish can rotate 360 degrees, which it uses to swim through the ocean. Starmie's core glows in seven different colors and is known as the "gem of the sea." It is believed to be able to send mysterious radio waves into space through its core. Due to its unusual body shape and ability to emit these waves, some believe it to be extraterrestrial in origin. Starmie is nocturnal and found in the deepest parts of the ocean, where it filter-feeds on plankton. Its core will flicker if it's injured and go dark if it loses consciousness. In the anime, Misty owned a Starmie which she used in gym performances.
