Magmar, known as Boober in Japanese, is a Fire-type Pokémon from the Pokémon franchise. It debuted in Generation I and evolves from Magby, later evolving into Magmortar. Magmar is a bipedal Pokémon with a red body, yellow flame designs on its lower half, and a yellow tail with a flame at the tip. It features yellow thighs, red feet with two toes each, and arms covered in rigid red scales with five clawed fingers. It has black metal shackles around its neck and ankles. Magmar’s body temperature is nearly 2200° Fahrenheit (1200° Celsius), giving it an orange glow. This Pokémon inhabits areas around active volcanoes due to its aversion to cold. Magmar intimidates foes by blowing intense flames from its body, and is known to heal its wounds by soaking in lava. It’s known as a tenacious and aggressive Pokémon, possessing limited psychic abilities, and has been shown to use super-heated air to block Electric-type attacks. Magmar is always burning, often inadvertently burning its prey and is considered a fire hazard.
