Porygon, Japanese name: ポリゴン, is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Porygon is an artificial Pokémon, made entirely of computer programming code, resembling a bird or duck constructed from polygons. Its body is primarily composed of pink, white, and blue, and it has hexagonal eyes. Porygon is the first artificial Pokémon created through computer programming, by scientists at Silph Co. It can convert its body into digital data, allowing it to travel through cyberspace. Porygon evolves into Porygon2, and then into Porygon-Z, all evolutions requiring trading while holding specific items. Porygon's only major appearance in the anime was in a banned episode due to flashing effects causing seizures in viewers. Its design is inspired by early 3D animation models and origami cranes.
