Omanyte (Japanese: オムナイト Omnite) is a dual-type Rock/Water Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It can be resurrected from a Helix Fossil. Omanyte is a nautilus-like Pokémon with a sky-blue body, ten tentacles, and a pale yellow, spiraled shell. It swims by twisting its tentacles and retreats into its hard shell for protection when threatened. It is considered extinct, but can be revived from fossils. Omanyte regulates its buoyancy by storing and releasing air within its shell and it feeds on plankton. Omanyte evolves into Omastar at level 40. Omanyte has appeared in the anime, manga, and various games, establishing itself as a prominent Fossil Pokémon.
Omanyte is known by different names in different regions, including Omanyte in English and オムナイト(Omnite) in Japanese.
