Aerodactyl, known in Japanese as Ptera (プテラ), is a dual-type Rock/Flying Fossil Pokémon in the Pokémon series. It was introduced in Generation I and is revived from an Old Amber fossil. Aerodactyl resembles a pterosaur, with serrated teeth, purplish-gray skin, and sharp claws. It can undergo Mega Evolution, transforming into Mega Aerodactyl with black rocky spikes on its body. In the games, Aerodactyl is known for its high speed and attack power, often used as a physical sweeper. According to lore, Aerodactyl was the king of the skies in ancient times, attacking prey by tearing their throats. While skilled in flight, it is slow on land. It is an omnivore, consuming fruits and berries, with a particular liking for Pamtre Berries.
