Articuno, known as Freezer (フリーザー) in Japanese, is a dual-type Ice/Flying Legendary Pokémon from the Pokémon series. Introduced in Generation I, it is one of the three Legendary birds of Kanto, alongside Zapdos and Moltres. Articuno is a large avian Pokémon with predominantly sky blue plumage and wings said to be made of ice. It has a crest of three darker blue rhombus-shaped feathers on its forehead, circular red eyes, a short gray beak, and long, thin gray legs. Its chest has white downy feathers, and its long, streamer-like tail is the same blue as its crest. Articuno can control ice at will, and its wing flaps can chill the surrounding air, causing snow to fall. Legend says it appears before travelers lost in icy regions and sometimes guides them to safety. In the Galar region, Articuno has a regional form with a Psychic/Flying type, featuring a lavender body, a black mask-like face, and psychic energy blades on its wings. It is constantly migrating but will gather with other birds at the Dyna Tree in the Crown Tundra. Articuno has appeared in various Pokémon media, including anime, manga, and games, and is beloved for its elegance and power.
