Sentret, known as Otachi in Japanese, is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II of the Pokémon franchise. It's a small, mammalian Pokémon covered in brown fur. Sentret is characterized by its long, dark brown ears with pink interiors, beady black eyes, and a small mouth. Though capable of standing on its hind legs, it typically moves on all fours. It has a round body, wide arms, and small feet. A white ring adorns its belly, and dark brown stripes encircle its tail. Sentret is cautious and timid, often standing on its tail to survey its surroundings. It will only sleep when another Sentret is on watch, and separation from its pack makes it too frightened to rest. When it senses danger, it alerts others by screeching and thumping its tail. Sentret is commonly found in temperate grasslands and evolves into Furret at level 15. This Pokémon has appeared in various Pokémon games, the anime, and manga, often depicted as a cute but wary creature that relies on teamwork to avoid danger. The design of Sentret might be inspired by meerkats, Japanese tanukis, and flying squirrels. Its name "Sentret" is possibly a portmanteau of "sentry" and "ferret."
