Lanturn

Lanturn (Japanese: ランターン, Rantaan) is a dual-type Water/Electric Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Chinchou starting at level 27. Lanturn resembles a deep-sea fish, with a periwinkle blue body and yellow spots on its head and tail. It has two glowing organs on top of its head that help it see in its dark, aquatic habitat. Lanturn's antennae produce a light bright enough to be seen from the surface, even when swimming deep in the ocean, earning it the nickname "the Deep-sea Star." This light is used to lure prey, which Lanturn then blinds with a sudden flash before swallowing them whole. It lives in the deep ocean and can generate and manipulate electricity, paralyzing foes with electric shocks and using water-type attacks. Lanturn is featured in many Pokémon games and has appeared multiple times in the anime series. It is believed to be based on an anglerfish.
