Hoppip (Japanese: ハネッコ Hanekko) is a dual-type Grass/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is a round, pink Pokémon with long green leaves growing on top of its head. The leaves have ragged edges, similar to a dandelion. It has large, triangular ears with dark insides and small, beady yellow eyes. Its limbs are stubby, and it has a short, rounded tail. Hoppip is extremely light and easily lifted by winds. To avoid being blown away, it clusters with other Hoppip, linking their leaves together, or grips the ground with its feet. It enjoys gentle breezes and is found worldwide except in cold regions, living in temperate grasslands, fields, mountains, and even urban environments. Hoppip evolves into Skiploom at level 18, which then evolves into Jumpluff at level 27. Hoppip has appeared in various forms of Pokémon media including anime, manga, and games, and its design may be inspired by seeds, bulbs, or dandelions.
