Dunsparce (Japanese: Nokocchi) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is a serpentine Pokémon with a primarily yellow body, blue underside, and blue and cream-striped back. Dunsparce has small white wings on its back, but can only levitate slightly, preferring to dig underground using its drill-like tail. Its eyes appear to be always closed, and it has a wide mouth with two blue prongs on its chin. This Pokémon is known for its timid nature, inhabiting dark caves where it constructs maze-like nests, navigating by its keen sense of smell. Dunsparce will flee by burrowing backward into the ground when threatened. It evolves into Dudunsparce by leveling up while knowing the move "Hyper Drill". Dudunsparce has two possible forms depending on an internal encryption constant, one form being very rare. Dunsparce’s design is inspired by the Japanese cryptid, the Tsuchinoko.
